Balanced School of Massage & Wellness prepares graduates for entry level positions in a variety of settings. With a strong foundation in anatomy, and physiology, the curriculum equips students to work spas, health care offices, private studios, and other wellness settings. In addition this program prepares students to
pass the MBLEx exam and obtain licensure in Colorado. This program fosters intuitive touch, helping students develop the confidence and skills needed to deliver client centered, effective care in a variety of professional settings.

Start Your Career In Massage Therapy
01*
Massage 1 provides students with a foundational understanding of the skills and techniques essential for safe and effective massage therapy practice. Students will learn and practice
the fundamental strokes of Swedish massage, while developing proper body mechanics and self-care strategies to sustain their practice and deliver client centered care.
02*
Massage 2 builds on foundational massage therapy skills, introducing students to a diverse range of specialized techniques and modalities. This course covers an introduction to Thai massage, sports massage, energy work, prenatal massage, hydrotherapy and chair massage. Students will learn the principles and applications of
each modality, practicing hands-on techniques while understanding their benefits, contraindications, and appropriate client care considerations
03*
Massage 3 focuses on advanced therapeutic techniques designed to address chronic tension, soft tissue dysfunction, and structural imbalances. This course introduces students to deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, and the foundational principles of structural integration. Emphasis is placed on injury intervention, proper body mechanics, and delivering client-centered care. Students will develop the skills to assess and address musculoskeletal conditions, create effective treatment plans, and safely apply advanced modalities.

Health Sciences. Topics include anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, palpation techniques, and medical
terminology. Students will explore the structure and function of the human body, the mechanics of movement, and the relationship between common health conditions and massage therapy.
Emphasis is placed on integrating scientific knowledge with practical application to promote holistic health. Online Course.

Profession Massage Foundations. This course provides massage therapy students with the essential knowledge and skills to succeed as ethical, competent, and professional practitioners. Covering a wide range
of topics, including the history of massage therapy, board exam preparation, ethics,
business practices, client communication, and cultural competency, this course is
designed to prepare students for real-world practice and licensure.

Methods and Modalities is an immersive hands-on course designed to expand your massage toolkit and prepare you for diverse client populations and work environments. This class explores a variety of advanced techniques and work settings to expand your therapeutic skills. Students will learn reflexology, intraoral techniques, advanced Thai massage sequences, an introduction to barefoot massage, event massage protocols, and spa-based body treatments.
Student Clinic/Events
The Massage Clinic provides students with the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge and hands-on skills in a real massage therapy setting. Under the supervision of licensed instructors, students will work with members of the community and gain experience delivering professional therapeutic massage sessions from start to finish. Students learn how to manage a client schedule, conduct thorough intake interviews, create treatment plans, practice ethical decision-making, and maintain accurate SOAP notes and documentation.
Student Lab
Internship
Through supervised internships at approved locations, and participation in
event-based massage opportunities, students deepen their skills, broaden their
professional exposure, and experience real-world dynamics beyond the classroom environment. Students may work in wellness centers, spas, chiropractic offices, athletic
events, nonprofit events, business settings, or community wellness fairs.
Massage Lab provides students with supervised, hands-on practice to enhance their massage therapy skills. This interactive component of the curriculum allows students to work on peers or clients while refining techniques and building confidence. Each lab session features a specific focus or modality, providing an opportunity to deepen
understanding and application of massage methods in a supportive environment.
