If you’ve been thinking about changing careers but don’t want to sacrifice your income, schedule, or lifestyle you’re not alone. More people than ever are looking for ways to become a massage therapist while working full time and enjoying your life.

The challenge? Most programs aren’t designed for real life.

That’s exactly why our July cohort at Balanced School of Massage and Wellness is different.

A Flexible Massage Therapy Program Designed for Working Adults

Traditional massage schools often require full time attendance or multiple weekly commitments. That simply doesn’t work if you already have a job, responsibilities, or a life you enjoy.

Our program is intentionally structured so you can:

  • Keep your current job

  • Maintain your income

  • Still have time for family, travel, and outdoor life

Here’s how it works:

  • One 4-day weekend per month for in-person training (Thurs-Sun)

  • 250 hours completed online on your schedule

  • 400 hands-on hours, with up to 180 hours completed as an internship

This format allows you to become a massage therapist while working full time and enjoying your life, instead of putting everything on hold.

Why Choose Massage Therapy as a Career?

Massage therapy offers something most careers don’t: flexibility, purpose, and earning potential. In a place like Summit County, Colorado, massage therapists are in high demand due to tourism, outdoor recreation, and a strong wellness culture.

Benefits of becoming a massage therapist:

  • Flexible scheduling (work 2–4 days per week)

  • High hourly income potential

  • Ability to specialize (TMJ, sports massage, relaxation, etc.)

  • Opportunity to work in spas, clinics, or your own business

  • A career centered around helping people feel better

If you’re looking for a meaningful path forward, this is one of the most accessible ways to become a massage therapist while working full time and enjoying your life.

Learn Skills That Go Beyond Certification

Our program doesn’t just prepare you to pass the licensing exam. It prepares you for a long, successful career.

You’ll learn:

  • Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology

  • Swedish and therapeutic massage techniques

  • Deep tissue and myofascial approaches

  • Sports massage and recovery techniques

  • Thai Massage and Eastern Modalities

  • Client communication and assessment

  • Business and career development skills

  • Self-care and burn out prevention

This combination ensures you graduate confident, skilled, and ready to work.

Stay in Summit County While You Train

One of the biggest advantages of this program is that you don’t have to leave your lifestyle behind. If you’re local, you can continue living and working in your community. If you’re traveling in, Summit County offers incredible options that make your education feel like an experience.

Affordable Stay Option

Many students choose The Block, a community-focused hostel in Silverthorne. It’s an affordable and social place to stay during your in-person weekends. Check them out here

A Program Built for Career Longevity

Massage therapy is physically and energetically demanding, but with the right training, it can also be incredibly sustainable.

We focus on:

  • Proper body mechanics to prevent injury

  • Creating a schedule that avoids burnout

  • Building a client base that aligns with your goals

  • Expanding your skillset to increase income potential

This isn’t just about starting a new career, it’s about building one that lasts.

Who This Program Is Perfect For

This program is designed for people who want more, but need flexibility.

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Want to change careers without quitting your job

  • Are looking for meaningful, hands-on work

  • Value flexibility and lifestyle freedom

  • Are interested in wellness, movement, or healing
